60's Darts look cool. Such a mean look. This is a Hurst Hemi Dart, 1968.

Some of them were stupid fast too.

They do look cool. Very cool.

I’ll bet this one is, look like it’s ready kick some ass.

I really like the pushed-in grill, as opposed to the straight ones on the Valiants.

If it’s a true ‘68 Hemi Dart, it was not street legal and ran the quarter in 10.5 s.

Yowza!

I love all 60's muscle - especially the biggest engine in the smallest car. That hood scoop is perfect on this car—

The hood scoop looks like it’s ready to inhale a small child. I need some 60s Muscle in my life

IF YOU LIKE IT SO MUCH WHY DON'T YOU MARRY IT

This is what they actually looked like from the factory. No paint, van seats up front, steelies... they were absolutely nuts. Accelerated quicker than most supercars up until fairy recently as well.

MAYBE I WILL IF I COULD FIND A RUST FREE ONE

Haha - I was thinking the exact same thing about the scoop. At some point, I want to get a muscle car as well. But having cut my teeth on mid-60s cars, they’re terrible to drive in many ways (braking and cornering especially). Perhaps a restomod...

I love how FCA carried over the panel gaps from 1968 to 2013.

I want one just like that. I want a bench seat, and a 4 speed, and I want to look like trash.

They make so many bolt-on upgrades like disk brakes and tubular control arms that it’s really not difficult to have a relatively safe car without much effort! I have a hankering BAD
![]() 08/26/2016 at 18:37 |

Yep - this is exactly the answer. I’ve only driven them stock, but to take a decent, straight, strong runner and do a disc brake conversion and some suspension upgrades, and you’d have a hell of a ride—

Yes. That is a great little detail.

I’d love to. It’s gonna be peak buyers season here too with people who don’t wanna put their stuff back in the garage for the winter.

I think the intention was that professional drag racers would paint them, but yeah, I’d keep it unpainted.

Right, put your own colour scheme on it. So cool.

Hmm, off to the internets, although I have too much life happening and a garage that's already full of beige, so it's not like I'm going to be buying any time soon...
![]() 08/26/2016 at 19:01 |

I’m selling some of my beige-ness for outrageous.

I wish modern cars came with bench seats
![]() 08/26/2016 at 20:25 |

Meh, I’ll never own a new car so it doesn’t matter what they put into them.

the newest car i saw with a bench seat was a 2002-04 chevy impala. never new till i lifted up the armrest! LMAO

And now we have this.
Where did we go wrong???

I think the question is “when”, and the answer is: 1975. Before I get flamed, yes there are good cars made after 1974, but they never got as crazy or as soulful as before they were before 1974.
